William Steiger's subjects are bridges, buildings, and flying machines from the first half of the 20th century -- structures which once epitomized progress and technology. Steiger's images are so meticulous and precise that they appear at first glance to be realistic, literal representations. In fact, they are full of the distortions of memory and even nostalgia.
