The Luo Brothers' world encompasses an often dizzying and dazzling pastiche of icons from western consumer culture alongside traditional Chinese folk imagery and maoist-era propaganda to create vibrant paintings, sculptures, drawings and prints that reflect the shifting socio-political climate in contemporary China. Members of the Political Pop movement, this collective deftly employ kitsch to humorously comment on the shifting cultural mores of their times.
