Born 1937 in Nashville, Tennessee, Red Grooms moved to New York in the 1950s. Since his early involvement with the Pop artists in their "Happenings," he has become a major chronicler of urban life through his three dimensional life-sized sculptures and multiples, and his two-dimensional drawings and prints.
