Carroll Dunham
American painter Carroll Dunham explores the psyche, basic instinct, and desire through painterly abstraction and typically dark metaphorical imagery; drawing inspirations from Flemish painting and Surrealism. Shown in New York since the mid-1980s, Dunham's work has evolved but remained faithful to the theme of provocative commentary on the world around him by employing the collision of minimal abstraction with a cartoonist, visceral funk.
